I took one step closer to what I
left behind and saw that you were
 more fragile than I remembered
   you were pale, thin, and
    obviously intoxicated
(Some things never change) You
reached your arms out for me and
when I saw the self-inflicted track
marks on your arm, i could
   not help but be nauseated
   at all the memories that
   flooded back; your 2 DUI's
   the time you wrecked your
truck in the canal and all
the times I sat there just
   waiting for the ambulence
   to arrive. and I always
    thought that you were
     more than that, but
      now I know it was
        just wishful
           think
            ing
             .
             .
             .
             .
