ThE tRuThS rEvEaLeD: fOrEvEr'S pAsSiOnS

by Chris Sheffler - Aries

The moonlight breaks through the clouds,
the pale night is when the damned ride,
a stale wind blows from the west,
pain blows from the east,
thoughts were beginning to change,
my mind seemed to answer the questions revealed,
as hopes grew cold and blood ran thick,
preparation for the final rendition of time was soon at hand,
choosing my stones carefully as I move around,
slipping slightly, but always holding on,
as minutes seemed like endless hours,
sands slipped through the hourglass of time,
waiting, maybe even hoping on the final starlight,
my breath grew heavy as my heart pounded harder,
my soul a flutter dreaming wasted dreams,
eyes wide upon, lips of glee,
set a course to my destination,
my mind was set, no longer failure,
the days slipped by like woven silk,
leaving joy of thought to what ever it touched,
but then one day of long ago,
the tragedy re-played it's part,
never suspecting what soon would be,
this happiness would turn to dismay,
glancing to where I should be,
I witnessed pain and my suffering,
the thoughts that had been left alone,
came back to twist the knife again,
the wounds were healed and gone away,
but soon re-opened, and the blood began to flow,
my eyes I knew would not deceive me,
so the lips of others must be at fault,
opening myself to take the chance,
stung again, without even having a chance,
my heart was shattered, the tears came down,
foolish was I to believe things had changed,
I turned away and ran so far,
when I turned, I saw the pain no more,
today I'm running still away,
keep the agony out of my rage,
broken down again today,
to die tomorrow, that's all I pray,
what started off as a grateful fear,
turned around and killed my hopes,
another day I'll have to live,
without the wisdom, no not within...
