I'm sorry if I am not the woman you seek.
Though I have tried to be all you want from me.
If I hurt you inside I apologize
But you need to know I want you to be mine.
Visions of you rule my mind.
Yet deep inside I know you will never be mine.
We live in two worlds so far apart,
But to me we are together, here in my heart.
Your light holds darkness
It preys on my sadness
It eats away at my feelings
Tells me to stop believing.
If you could only realize
The dream I have, I must disguise.
For people say it will never be.
But why should I hide it?
The dream is mine, no one can take it away from me.
The words you say surround me like a circle of flames
Your heated comments set me ablaze.
I melt inside each time we speak
You speak such truths, at least to me.
Life sometimes is so unfair.
It can wrap us all in a cloak of despair.
A giant cloth soaked in blood
From those who have lost at love.
Demon spirits of lust and desire
Feed on our vulnerability and it makes them stronger.
If I could only understand my being.
Then maybe I could control the life I am living.
I live a life full of shattered images.
I`ve loved and lost, my heart has been injured.
I'm afraid to let anyone close.
What if I am hurt once more?
Then all I will have is the memory of love's ghost.
In you I see someone different.
Someone who could help me accept forgiveness.
Your eyes show me a kindred soul
I think with you I could regain control.
With you I feel I could take flight.
I think I am ready to tear down the walls that surround my life.
You make me feel I have nothing to hide.
Now if only you would open your heart to mine.
