Touch of Love

by Bob Walker *Cancer* - Not entered

Shadows fall across the floor
Night begins as I close the door

The day is gone, nearly out of sight
There is no way to defer the night

My hopes arose at break of day
That love would come and it would stay

The sun rose high in the noonday sky
Now I know it was all a lie

You hope and dream and still hang on
Remembering what you felt at dawn

The sun is now past it’s peak
And I will not find what I seek

I feel so helpless within my plight
So little time while there is light

What kind of sin did I commit
That for love I was unfit

A single ray shines in my room
Just moments left to dispel my gloom

Is there a power somewhere above
To end my day with a touch of love.

Reason for writing:
