A Look Within . . .

by Roland Hoensch (Cancer) - Not entered

The flowers still bloom in the valley.
The poplar smiles at us every day.
But winter awaits us in the next alley.
Snow covers the mountain of Berc.

It is me; lying on the ground.
A still-living treasure of summer days.
Sins and bad omens all around.
Torturing me in a thousand ways.

You are my love, future and past.
You send me away; calling me back.
My life void of You could never last.
Kiss me before the skies turn to black.

I've never known this; but it feels so right.
Its pain caresses me every night.
If it's foolish; just let it be.
But if it's love, please forgive me.

I love You, like a child loves her mother,
Like silent graves love their endless depths,
Like fine-art desires and longs for forever.
As soul loves fire; as body loves rest.

I love You, my baby. I love You so!
More than winds embracing trees so long.
I love You, my baby; this You must know!
And a love like ours can never be wrong.

I feel You as close as I feel my heart.
And the whole world opens up to me;
Though hard times may just yet start,
The end of the tunnel we shall always see.

Life and fate entangles around me.
Arm me with faith and loyalty!
And that way, I can promise You:
Your one true love, I shall forever be.
