skeletons

by Freda Stauffer/ virgo - Not entered

Skeletons- The sun has vanished- The clouds are rolling- A vast and endless desert- Lies before the solitary soul- The wind is howling- sand is winging, stinging- Alone and lonely- The lost is struggling- blinded, stumbling in hopeless circles- Trying to discover- respite from the fury- of the storm- a vacant, yawning, infinite ache- pursues its prey- The demons that haunt- torment the helpless heart- the brutality of life- leaves skeletons of hope- only debris and dust- lie in the storms wake.- Of the hunted- there remain pieces- In pieces, but free,- pieces that taunt,-dreams that used to be.
