RESPONSE TO THE CLASS RING

Response to the Class Ring

You stood by the door, staring at me
Pain and hurt was all I could see.

You took your class ring from my hand,
I wanted to touch you,
forever hold your hand.

Everybody was staring at your tear- stained cheek
They felt so hurt, never bothering to speak.

I watched you closely
as you bent down near to whisper,
I love you near my ear.

You wanted to cry and so did I
I wanted to brush off those tears from your eyes.

But I could never do something to ease the pain.
Can't you tell from crying, you don't have anything to gain?

So I passed by like a wind that blows,
As they lowered my casket down into the snow.
