Sugar Bowl

by Megan Aries - Not entered

I want to hate you so bad
I can taste it like copper wires
around my tounge, but
instead I can only think about
how much you've been hurt, oh
my darling, you are not the way
you are because of something
you did wrong, it is only the tides
of the moon flowing backwards
under your hands and welling
up to fill your mouth, your nose-
drowning you. But I'll catch
you and drag you up again and
when you run away from me
again saying that you don't deserve
me I will say that no, it is I who
doesn't deserve you. I don't
want you to hurt forever, so I
think I'll save you a new set
of questions bytaking myself
away, because if I live on I'll
only make you more sad...but
promise me you won't forget
the girl that loved you this much.
Promise me you will never forget.
