Dear God, Before I went to sleep On my knees I prayed to you But I guess you didn't hear me Cause my blessings didn't come true. I prayed, Dear Lord I prayed with my very soul To bless my family And everyone else I know I know you listen to me when I pray 'Cause I do so every night But I guess you were too busy Because my mommy died last night. Did you hear me pray Dear Lord With my head in my hands? Did you hear my extra blessings? Did you understand? I'm not blaming you, God Please don't get me wrong But if you needed her so much Why did you wait so long? I will continue to pray And I hope you hear me through But if I bless everyone down here Can I bless my mommy too?
