A Passing Angel

by Liana(Capricorn) - Not entered

In the twilight hours of the night
Sweet memories of you I try to fight

Soothing myself near the fireplace
As the dying embers warm my face

I am alone in this peaceful solitude
Away from this world so knowingly cruel

Darkness falls upon my heart
Casting shadows on my mind
Memories slowly seeping in
That were once hard to find

Everything rushes back to me
Half awake and half in dreams

Long-forgotten memories reeling in so fast
That reality storms into the past

Now and then emotions become entwined
As the scenes play games with my mind

I close my tear-swelled eyes
And wonder why you left so soon
Then I feel your presence watching over me
Like an angel passing through my room
