Fury: Unbound

Fury Unbound

A thousand men have died today
To keep me from this place
But I have done whatever it took
To balance the books once more
And for my Love, repay

To kill the keeper of this place
To see him bleed and die
My sword to rend from stem to stern
Split him from end to end
And see my agony in his face

I ascend the stairs one by one
To reach his damn'ed lair
All guards have died, their battle done
All gone, but he remains
He will die, by setting sun

Up the stairs and down the hall
I walk down towards the door
Behind which he is hiding
He knows I'm here, I've told him so
Wanting the fight, I do not stall

I reach the door of solid teak
I slam it from its hasp
My sword jumps into my hand
Flashing brightly in the flames
Just like a lightning streak

But as I take my stance to fight
Do what befall mine eyes?
You lying there within his bed
Alive? Here, now with him?
He laughs to break my trance

Yes he says with booming voice
She's mine, you fool, and always was!
Oh stupid one, you 'king' of men
She used you once, and took your Name
Hah!! You didn't have a choice!

The Fury consumed my mortal soul
Turned me from man to Hate
I screamed my pain
And jumped at him
His death my only goal

He parried my sword down and away
And smashed across my face
I hit the wall, lay trembling there
Fear crossed behind my eyes
Knowing I might just die this day

But then the Fury turned me into ice
I gathered myself again
Standing in that damn'ed lair
My betrayal by you ignored
Adding to the fight more spice

I raised my sword and closed my eyes
To find my central core
Stilled my fears and quelled my pain
And resolved just one more time
That today, this day he dies

I looked to your angelic face
Your eyes tell me the truth
You know my rage and know my fear
Know that you've been caught
And that none will leave this place

Figure eight and smash and thrust
Pacing toward his passive form
Slash and parry, move for move
The fight at last engaged
Wood breaks in clouds of dust

Sparks fly across the dim lit room
As swords sing their song
Clank and zing of block and strike
The thump and slap of fists and kicks
Resound and echo doom

I trip and swing, my blow goes wide
To which he missed a thrust
But catching me a slashing cut
Retreating back again
Blood pouring down my side

Tuck and roll, to stand upright
Side slick with my blood
The stance I take again once more
Pain lancing from the wound
Retake again the fight

The Fury takes over now
And I am merely there
It takes me, makes me anew
The pain is gone, as is fatigue
The blade moves faster, truer somehow

Advance and strike, the blow is true
The armor breaks top to side
He looks at me, his eyes go wide
As he realizes what's been done
He hits the floor on cue

You scramble from the bed to him
Still naked from your mating
You pull him close upon your chest
His blood pools down your knees
As he dies, his sight grows dim

I leave you sitting in the floor
With his now dead, still form
Growing colder, all of us
He's dead, you're lost, I'm dying
I walk out, through the door.

You look at me, as I move past
And I do not turn around
You know your crime
What you have done
Cannot be undone at last
