the wind

by Dumpy leo - Not entered

the wind blows cold at my nose
no more can I smell a rose
the wind blows snow into my eyes
no more will I gaze at blue skies
The wind chills me to the bone
on this night I am alone
wind that once blew a warm breeze
now blows cold through the barren trees
this wind will blow through my heart and soul
but by moring I'll be six feet below

Reason for writing:

had a friend who died of exposuer lost in the north woods
thought this may have been what he could have been thinking
just before he passed
