It's all it seems to be My life was wrought in misery, Until you walked by me... And grabbed my hand. I cracked a smile that tore my lips, I licked the sweat from your fingertips... But, I don't know, I could have dreamed it. I'm a flower in a junkyard bed, Just a flower in a junkyard pile... It's where I'm growing, It's where I'm growing. As you squeezed my hand I looked into your eyes, You were dragged away Hanging on all the while... While you held my hand, Yeah, you held my hand. If you saw Just what I was thinking How I never Wanted To let you go - I don't know why, But, I need you tonight. I don't know why, But, I want you tonight. A flower in a junkyard bed, A flower in a junkyard pile. I want you tonight, Can you read my mind? Just a junkyard flower... Be mine... E.A.Altamura, Copyright 1998
Reason for writing:
This poem was written after a concert given by one of my favorite bands. The lead singer I'd been in love with secretly for years. I finally got to be close enough to him, he held my hand as his bodyguards pulled him along. 2 years later he met me again, and took me out on my first date. Wishes sometimes really do come true. There are many other poems also about My Loving Half, especially after we develop an actual relationship of sorts, but this poem I especially dedicate to him...that first moment of destiny captured forever in reality.Birth sign: Not entered
