My Window View

by Heather/Taurus - Not entered

Out my window, I can see,
Suffering children, parents down on one knee,
Praying to God, for a better life,
For more money, or for a loving wife,
I see pain and suffering all around,
I see soldiers fall to the ground.

But in the distance,
There's a ray of light.
Showing courage, honesty,
Hope and might.
It shines brighter and brighter,
Every day,
Getting bigger and bigger,
Along the way.

When all of a sudden,
It breaks free of it's trap,
It shines all over,
Touching every living thing,
With it's heart-warming tap,
People glow in the light,
Giving them courage honesty,
Hope and might.

That is when,
My window view changed,
I saw playful children,
Completely changed,
Parents up off their knees,
Saying thanks to God, for their better life,
For their money, and for their loving wife,
I see no pain or suffering anywhere,
All I see is a happy pair.

Things can change,
As you can see,
Look for the ray of hope,
And their will be me,
Looking out my window.
In that light lies the key,
To your happiness,
To your glory,
Where there's never sadness,
Always a loving story.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem during hard times. I thought about all the suffering in the world, and then I thought about the little ray of hope everywhere. And that if you only look for it and follow that light, you can always make it through bad times, and never have to think that life is not worth living.
