A Friendship Seed

by Bobbie J. Brown - Scorpio

For all the times that you need someone to listen and understand,
When you think you are alone or nobody will give you a chance,
If life seems to be unbearable and sometimes it can,
call on me -- I'll be your friend.
For all the times that you need a laugh or a shoulder on which to lean,
When you think you are no good because that's what others see,
If life gives you a reason to want to leave,
call on me -- I'll be your friend.
As friends might walk through your life or simply pass by,
Because I've been misled to trust and I know what it's like,
Even though I can't be right by your side,
call on me -- I'll be your friend.
As your mission to live happily becomes hazy and unclear,
Because I've found out you only need to face that fear,
Even though you can't see the answers are near,
call on me -- I'll be your friend.
From all your faults that try to bring you down low,
To all your good points that you need to let grow,
Since I will filter all that I know,
call on me -- I'll be your friend.
From all your pain or happiness you wish to express,
To all your darkest secrets you long to confess,
Since I won't think of you any less,
call on me -- I'll be your friend.
For all the times that you need someone to believe you're important,
When you think you are falling and nobody lends a hand,
If life hits you hard don't be hesitant,
call on me -- I'll be your friend.
For all the times that you need to hear someone's friendly hello,
When you think you aren't anyone I want to know,
If life plants you a seed of friendship that has yet to grow,
call on me -- I'll be your friend.
