I had that dream again
the one with me and you
the one where you turn to me
and say the words, I love you.

I had that dream again
but today it made me cry
cause I looked into your eyes today
and I knew I’d never get through
 
I thought if I loved you enough
you’d learn to love me too
and if I waited long enough
my dream was sure to come true

But your eyes don’t let me in
and your heart is locked up tight
I thought I could wait forever
but now I’m giving up the fight

I have learnt one thing
from falling in love with you
My love cannot be true 
unless it is returned by you
