The Tree

by Jamie, Scorpio - Not entered

The Tree

Sitting there
Cold and bare
No life left within

Starving for food
Changing the mood
Thinking life must be a sin

The wind blows
Sadness grows
It can't stay alive

Weakness sets in
Hope grows thin
It takes that endless dive

People walk by
Stopping to sigh
Then go on their way

Lonely and cold
Growing very old
It silently passes away

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem because a friend challenged me to write a symbolic poem about a tree. Stupid friend, because he had no idea that I could do it. (I won 5 bucks.) If you can't tell ... its about a tree dying, but also about a homeless person and poverty. Sorry if it isn't that good, seeing as how I wrote it in 10 minutes ... thats as much as the bet allowed. I submitted it because I was bored and just felt like .... submitting it.
