Big Dipper

by emma-*gemini* - Not entered

you left me alone
with the memories we've shared
and with the realization
that you never really cared

i have nothing to show
for that time with each other
and with each day
you memory fades farther

but one thing
will live on in my mind
it's something you taught me
on that cloudless night

the sky was choked with stars
but only those six caught my attention
and i'd know it meant something
if you'd only mention

that we looked up
into that big, clear sky
and you showed me
where the big dipper lies

whenever i see it
my mind fills with you
and i wish to God
you thought of me too

Reason for writing:

summer romance- e-mail me with comments, suggestions, criticisms. actually a song adapted to poetry that i wrote
