Why did you have to go? You left me to fight these tears alone. No one to talk to. No one who cares. No one to laugh with. No one who loves me. No one who listens. Why did you leave me on that rainy day? You were not old enough to live your life. You didn't get a chance to achieve your dreams. Why were you stolen from us? Did it hurt when you were taken away? There was so much left unsaid. I wish you would come back. I think about you every minute. You were my dear friend. You were never alone and never will be. I pray that you're okay. Still, in my heart, you'll always hold a special place to me.
Reason for writing:
I know it's not one of my best poems...but I wrote it for a dear person who was killed in a car accident just after New Years in 1996.
I miss him terribly...but I know he's doing alright, up where God wants him to be.
