Carlie

by L~N~L - Not entered

did you hear Carlie's cries?
of course not
we were all to busy in our own demented worlds
to realize in actuality
what this young girls dreams were.
She pleaded and prayed
and begged for mercy
all she needed was the affectionate arms of love.
sometimes she would cry at night
knowing everything was crumbling down around her
and mamma knew not of her own daughter
but of her own dispicable lies.
now we all see what Carlie really wanted
she had dreams to catch
guys to love
friends to giggle with
but when one thing went wrong
she dragged everything else down as well.
She should've never been in that ordeal
it wasn't even supposed to happen
it was all so easy to get for her.
the drugs she said was for her mama
and the dry hands handed Carlie the drugs
and the knife was in the dishwasher
nowing what was going to happen that day.
did you hear the doubt in the back of her mind
as she went into the bathroom
swallowed the depressants
and cut her wrist with the knife
as the bottle made an echoing noise as it hit the floor.
the world froze and moved in slow motion
as Carlie breathed in this one moment of happiness
perhaps the only moment she would ever enjoy.
she was too tiny for that coffin
she should've only been asleep
we should've all seen what was happening
to our friend, our family, our guiding light
but we were caught up in the hussle and bussle of our own lives
while Carlie was struggling to tell us that she needed help
but now we should all just pray for her
and know she's with Him
and may He protect her with serenity until we come and visit.
Did you feel the rain yesterday?
it seemed to keep a rythm and beat
i know it was carlie
because after she cried
the sun shined so bright
the only day the sun shined that bright before
was when Carlie was born.

In loving memory of Carlie...always in our hearts.
