Grievances from an undisciplined teenager

by Kimberly Barnett (Taurus, by the way) - Not entered

Laughter meets anger halfway at portal to the outside
Keeper of secrets or supposed Good Samaritan
Cannot leap out of the pain caused by unfulfilled desires
Yet craving trust above all else
Tiresome untruths escape from wild imagination
To concoct a virtual reality for sensitive eyes and ears
For the weak-hearted and closed-minded
Taboo fires raging under young skin
Scorching hearts know only of desire
Igniting hotter when suffocated
Burning stronger when unopposed
Slowly and steadily becoming perceptible
To the authoritarian
Presupposing cryptic significance
Surreally comparable to truth
Grandmother's intuition
Constant suffocation
Thief who steals breath of life
Sighing breezes of warmth and friendship
Unjustly taken from lips still warm with kisses
And arms vacant for only a brief moment
Intercepted by jealousy
Lost control
Unaware of selfishness imposed
On a life prepared for second flight
Barely touching down between landing and take-off
Stripping away bitter tastes
Leaking vital life
Information kept secret
To protect the courageous
Underground, under wraps
Under short fingernails
Scraping against dusty chalkboards
Screeching shudders through porcupine spines
Hedgehogs scurrying to nowhere
Misdirected dreams once again
Debilitated by an emotionally handicapped
Hearing and hating
Grievances solely derived from an undisciplined teenager

Reason for writing:

This poem basically came from a strange stream of consciousness. Needless to say, I was feeling a little bitter about the authority figures in my life (namely, my parents)
