I knew a love just once, that took me to that special place. He was what I hoped for, he was to me what I called fate. He showed me how to love, by caring for me as a friend. The best I could ask for because anything he would lend. We had the best of times, through all our moments together. He seemed to have a way of helping me see what mattered. I knew a love just once, that opened my eyes to the world. He taught me how to live, he made me believe in this girl. I've learned so many things about life's treasures inside me, and if it weren't for him I would have missed all I have seen. He is just a hero who came to turn my life around. I sincerely love him, he's everything without a doubt. I knew a love just once, that had no depth whatsoever. He held my heart's one key, even though he'd love me never. Some might call me crazy, but for love you have no control. It's something that happened and my heart is what tells me so. And here now it has been eight long months since he went away, but he's there in my heart because I love him still today. I knew a love just once, that lasted when the flame had died. He tried to burn it out and kill it with the dark of night. No matter what I do, inside he is the one for me. He touched me where it counts, for him I landed on my knees. A special one he is, maybe one day I'll make him see. I only have to prove that somehow he really loved me. Copyright February 16, 1999 by Bobbie J. Brown
Reason for writing:
Even though this is a new poem of mine, I think it'll always be one of my favorites. I enjoy writing about love. Sometimes it has nothing to do with my life and other times it does. This one holds a lot of truth! Feel free to email me & let me know what you think.Birth sign: Scorpio
