The Twenty-First Century

by Christina Leigh Peterman - Leo

How are we supposed to live
In this false world?
Where nothing is real anymore.
We walk around with forced smiles
And practiced lines.
We live with transparent personalities
And plastic emotions.
We have stale conversations
Just to be polite.
We are fooled by everything
With mirror tricks and computer graphics.
How can we tell what's real
In a world of cloned sheep
And surgical enhancements?

Reason for writing:

General disgust about the state of our society.
