DOES HE TOUCH YOU
by Richard Maxfield
2-27-99

Does he touch you
The way I used to do
To sleep next to him and hold him tight
Does it feel good and does it feel right
Does he say the things you want hear
Does he chase away your all fear
Does he reach out to touch your face
Does his touch make your heart race
Does he love you more than life its self
or does he keep some on a shelf
Does he long to grow old with you
Would he take care and see you through
Does he run his fingers through your hair
Years from now will he be there
Does he love every wrinkle on you face
Is it home or just his place
Does he gently kiss your ear
are his intuitions all ways clear
with each hair that turns gray
is it forever or just a day
would he lay down his life
like I would do for my wife
Will he be there when you call
or to pick you up when you fall
Is he worth all your trust
or will your life with him be a bust
Will he hold you as years pass by
and kiss away the tears that you cry
Life is short and so is the night
make sure all you have done is right
Will he love you for ever and a day
or are they just words he might say
What didn’t I do what didn’t I say
I loved you with my all every day
My heart I gave for you to keep
I think of you even when I sleep
