Never Alone

by slm - Libra

So far away from my home and feeling so alone
In a land of strangers in which no kindness is ever shown
One of this life's simplist gifts, you can seldom see
The giving of a smile has no cost, to the giver it is free

Lying in a motel bed, wishing I was home
I toss and turn the night away, feeling that I'm alone
I feel the empty pillow, laying next to me
I open my eyes in silence, a faint image I begin to see

The image comes in focus as the angel begins to sing
She floats across the motel room and wraps me in her wing
Her soothing voice does comfort me as she takes me to my home
It was then I realized throughout this trip I've never been alone

The journey now is over and I am heading home
Wrapped in the wings of an angel, I am never alone
The angels now are waiting, a free gift for you to receive
But in order to receive it, you must first believe
