Steel Moon

by Elena Poppins - Not entered

The steel moon, a radiant ball of foil,
Trudges across the dark, raven sky.
Shining its bright, glorious signature,
It lights our paths and shows the way.
Halfway across the sky,
 Halfway through the night.
Making the journey to cross over.
Over to the other side.
Stealing the sun's reassuring rays,
In the name of its own to light its way.
Stealing the sun's rays to earn its fame.
It passes through the night,
Returning the sun's rightful title,
Only to come and steal it again another time.

Reason for writing:

    Just came to me.
