Wedding

by Gary J. Lesser (Leo) - Not entered

Standing in front of the crowd
A bright smile warms your rosy face.
The arms that gave such comfort
Now covered in radiant white.
Nervously kneeling side by side
Beneath the white collared celebrant
The soft hand that knew me so well
Now gladly accepts His gold band.
Family cheers as your delicate lips
Seal your bond with Him.
My smile mirrors the rest.
Yet a tear weaves a cool trail down my cheek.

Reason for writing:

Dedicated to Jaime Grambo, though we have gone our separate ways, she will always have a piece of my heart.
