TWO LONELY HEARTS
by Richard Maxfield
3-5-99

Two lonely hearts meet in the still of the night
Each one sadden by things that was not right
one had been hurt the outer broken
by actions, lies and the unspoken
two hearts afraid to care
two hearts scared to share
each heart to a different beat
broken by lovers cheat
one reaches out the outer draws away
saving its self for another day
things that might have been but could not be
two hearts blind, could not see
maybe there will come a day
when the hearts can sing and play
one of the hearts beat with in me
some day soon to be set free
