SHE DID NOT SAY

SHE DID NOT SAY
by Richard Maxfield
3-10-99

What went wrong she did not say
she took my love and went away
she said when I look in your eyes I still see
the same wonderful man that was for me
I took her for my wife
I gave her all I gave my life
she said dont beet your self up its not you fault
my love for you came to a halt
nothing I did she said was wrong
to kill the love, we shared for so long
for twenty two years we loved and lived
for only each other our self we did give
I thought forever it would last
a love like this could never have passed
to two children we gave life
me and my lover, me and my wife
what went wrong, she did not say
she took my love and went away
she told me I do not love him, he dont love me
I just like his company, can’t you see
my heart cries out and is broken
by the cheats and the unspoken
dreams of tomorrow can never be
because of the day she stopped loving me
every thing I have I would give
the dreams of tomorrow, if I could live
what went wrong she did not say
she took my love and went away
