Yesterday & Tomorrow

by Terri M. O'Donnell-Sagittarius - Not entered

Roses bloom with hope inside
All good times are kept alive
Caps and Gowns we wear with pride
Keep our careers close in mind
Then rain and Thunder fills the sky
Tears of memories fall close by
goodbye to old friends and the past
A petal falls from the rose I hold
Each makes a new beginning alone.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem for a high school English class a few years ago. I thought I knew then, that the poem symbolized much more than just the simple words within it and now looking back and ahead I know for certain.
