If you find love

IF YOU FIND LOVE
by Richard Maxfield
3-26-99

If you find love hold on tight
hold each other through the night
with youth and passion we did say
forever in love we will stay
as years went by our love did grow
she gave me children our love to show
I loved her like no one could
I gave my all as I should
each day that passed I loved her more
love was free and never a chore
I kissed her face and touched her hair
her with me not a care
years came and went
my life with her I had spent
looking forward to the day
just her and I could run away
not for ever but just awhile
to touch her face and kiss her smile
each day that passed lines did form
keeping each other safe from life’s storm
as time passed the light grew clear
for more time to love was comming near
I woke one day to hear her say
I am leaving you alone today
I thought it was just a bad dream
I tried to wake with a scream
she said I found another
I cant be your wife or a mother
she took her things and went away
nothing I did wrong she did say
I sit and cry what went wrong
with love so good for so long
I am left alone with pain and sorrow
taken away my hopes of tomorrow
if you find love hold on tight
hold each other through the night
you can never know if love will stay
forever or just a day
