FORGIVING THE UNFORGIVABLE

Forgiving the unforgivable
by Richard Maxfield
3-27-99

For the unforgivable I freely forgive
for I have my own life to live
painful words and fighting screams
is it all the way that it seams
your words sharper than any knife
what took over my dear sweet wife
you fired your words straight at my heart
cut me so deep I came apart
lies and secretes things untold
when did all your hate take hold
I sat there mouth open and not a sound
you tried to justify your actions by pushing me down
an attempt to provoke me into something not meant
so you could run away another night not spent
you were trying to justify you leaving me
looking back I can clearly see
burning love and seething rage
my emotions I kelp locked up in their cage
to go be with him and not just me
these painful things I can plainly see
an attempt to provoke me into something not meant
so you could run away another night not spent
my emotions pacing a shrinking cage
for you now there is no rage
For the unforgivable I freely forgive
for now I have my own life to live

Reason for writing:

I had to do this, more for me but for her also
