SO SHALL I

SO SHALL I
by Richard Maxfield
3-27-99

As the spring rain softly falls
on the fields and trees
so shall love water me

the grass turns green
with tender new growth
so shall my sole

as trees become strong
and tall
so shall my emotions

the birds sing and play
building their nest
so shall I

the warmth of the sun
nourishes the earth
I shall nourish too

as gentle winds blow
in change
I shall change also

as new things
fresh with birth
I shall be fresh too

as flowers become
in full bloom
so shall my love

as all is refreshed
in newness of life
so shall I
