Free The Whales

by Dalton Davis - Not entered

I saw a man standing on a box
outside a government office at night
he was trying to get in
proclaiming everythings not right
and i walked up and said good sir
why is it that you scream
his reply, a simple one, was like from out a dream
Free The Whales said he from atop his box
to my face with pure delight
and i stood there motionless
on that moonlit summers night
Dear sir, said I, with placid disdain
whatever do you mean
why stand outside a government office
ans say something so obscene
well let me tell you a little story
and then i will let you know
what Free The Whales is all about
and why i scream it so
you see, kind stranger, i once was a man
quite honest and quite pure
but my Uncle Sam he drafted me
to fight some bullshit war
and so i went to serve my land
as i was supposed to do
and i came back with nothing left
but bills that were overdue
my family starved i could get no job
ans so i turned to them
but Uncle Sam he turned his back
just on a single whim
so now i stand outside this office
everynight and day
yelling at the top of my lungs
what you just heard me say
but dear sir what does it mean
again i asked the man
take the first letter of each word
and then you might understand
so i went home with a puzzled head
confused and slightly mad
and then that night right before sleep
it came to me in my head
and i laughed as never before
at what the man had said
for in his own words he had proclaimed
what every person wanted
FUCK THE WORLD!

Reason for writing:

Something drastic happened to me at a weekend thing that i went to so i decided to write something loosely based on it.
