Love

by Isabella / Virgo - Not entered

It would have been so much easier,
If we just had used each other.
It would have been so much easier,
If we just had our fun.
I ask myself, What have I done?
   Falling in love with you.
I lay awake at night wondering,
If you truly fell in love with me.
If love is nothing more than endless suffering,
   Then I don't want it.
If love is nothing more than a slow decline into madness,
Then I want to run away from it.
If love brings nothing but hopeless tears,
Then I want to destroy it.
If this is Love,
I beg of you to save me.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem when I ended a relationship with a married man I had fallen deeply in love with.
