I am i think a passing-time flyer
The mastery of history was and is my desire
to relish each relic and relive their reasons,
to Spring and Fall thru backward seasons,
to dustbuster dust and then trust the luster,
to read the books read by Gandhi and Custer,
to ponder and wonder about the world crushed under,
the now and the how of yeaterday next,
to watch today become historical text,
to feel mem'ries burn into an amber fire,
I am i think a passing-time flyer.
