Always dreaming of deep love, never knowing it this way. I freely gave myself, you took my soul without delay. I saw such a friend in you, I no longer felt alone. I was blind. When I was in need, I found you were gone. With each breath I take, I thank God that He opened my eyes. This sickness took me victim, until His truth shone through my lies.
Reason for writing:
I wrote this at the realization that I am an addict. I am since recovering from alcohol and drug abuse. Maybe this can reach someone who is in need.
