Sleeping Cat

by Jordan Davis - Not entered

As I watch my cat sleeping
His purring sounds like a tugboat leaving the harbor
He lays there like a dead limb on a tree
  Lifeless and still

In his dream he's imagining that he is chasing a mouse
Through the feilds golden and brown
In his dream he is a hunter swift and true
Croching and creeping along the ground
He moves like a jaguar on the move

As I sit there and ponder some more
I wonder whether or not his dream is good or bad
Thinking how the mouse feels happy or sad
He snores and snores and snores some more

In his dream he catches the mouse
Finally after long hunting he's happy and glad
But he realizes that the mouse is very sad
In his mind he thiks and thinks
Finally he lets the mouse go
To run free and true throughout the golden and brown feilds
  Where he used to.

Reason for writing:

My cat because he is always sleeping.
