Life, Death, Rebirth

by Max; Leo - Not entered

Before Christ was in my life I lived among the walking dead
Nothing but evil and sinful thoughts dwelled in my head
Life was just a game that I liked to play
And I was going to live all of my days in that way
It was like that until I had those cold cuffs slapped upon my wrists
Looking up at my parents wondering how I came to this
Then for a while I just hung my head in shame
Because even though I was an accomplace I only had myself to blame
I remembered the slain and incarcerated and knew this wasn't the life for me
That's when I turned to the Lord and Christainity
Baptized and had my sins washed away
Then I was able to see a brighter and better day
New doors were opened right before my eyes
Finally given the world without living lies
Able to be truthful with myself
Able to live each day happy to have my health
Knowing that for every dark night there's a brighter day
And knowing with the Lord on my side everything's okay

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem to let people know only they have the
power to change their lives. Also, that anybody can change,
No matter what he or she has done.
