Missed Opportunities

by slm - Libra

Reflecting back to the events of the day
And the opportunities I had along the way
To say a kind word to a young man in need
To lend a helping hand and plant Your seed

To share time with a child and to see it smile
To sit by a hospital bed and chat for a while
A simple smile from the bed as I start to stand
Helping to ease her pain while holding her hand

Smelling the crimson clover as the sun melts a frost
Dandelion seeds in the breeze as if they were lost
The seasons pass by us now, so very fast
Wanting so much for this spring day to last

Reflecting all the opportunities that I had today
There were times I didn't go out of my way
Lord help me to make the most of every day
As you guide my foot steps along the way
