Under neath the broken fence the insects danced and played All wreathed with fruity smiles looking forward to future days. And under neath the old old bridge upon the ponds wet sand Sat a sneaky bullfrog conjuring up great plans. For on this day, this beautiful day the frog was going to have some fun By hopping down to the broken fence and eating every insect one by one. And the insects would be carrying on with stuff they would attend Unaware that this gruesome frog was right around the bend. So the great big frog hopped right down and said with a sneaky smile “Who wants to have a good time and ride upon my back for awhile?” Thinking nothing bad of it the insects all declared “Oh yes oh yes it would be fun! To ride way o way up there” And with flutter of wings and hops of the feet and in fast runs even jogs The young insects climbed aboard the great big huge ol frog. “Buckle up everyone! I don’t want anyone to get hurt. And since there’s ravenous beasts out there…be alert!” So the frog started hoppin away with many an insect on top Heading toward the direction they’ve never been, heading for the pond. With smiling faces they enjoyed their ride until one said, appalled “The wretched frog is heading towards the water and is going to drown us all! So all the insects tried to unbuckle themselves but it was no use For the frog he jumped into the pond and the insects all went loose Some went a swimmin but most of them drowned And others cried with distress others, not a sound. And the big ol frog he stuck out his tongue and caught all the dead little things Unaware that just behind him was an insect with a great big string. Carefully he threw the string and it wrapped round the frog’s head And soon enough the monstrous frog was absolutely dead. But now under neath the broken fence new insects frown Bout the way their friends and family had drowned. And down beneath the old old bridge their lives an evil toad Looking for a tasty lunch and conjuring up plans of his own.
