Remembering Tete

by Grisel--aries - Not entered

Remebering Tete

i remember your smile,
the way your face beamed with happiness
as you pulled the white lace curtain
to see who was ringing the bell.

i remember your kisses,
always too noisy and too many
as you pulled me close for a warm embrace
which always seemed too long.

i remember your walk,
slow and shifty in your white socks and slippers
as you pulled me into the long hallway
which always had the wonderful aroma of something cooking.

i remember your voice,
loud and boisterous
as you served me something delicious to eat
and told me the family stories over and over again.

i remember your expression,
when i'd say i had to leave
as you thank me the visit
which you'd always say was too short.

Reason for writing:

    i remember your saying,
vaya con dios mi nina,
as you'd pull me close for another embrace
and always too many kisses.
