Side of the Angels

by David M Reyes (Leo) - Not entered

I wont try to beg these eyes to open
Just to see you are no longer here
I cant deny that it's taken so much time
Just to see that you no longer care

And it weighs on me, A feeling so deep
It weighs on me, A feeling so heavy, It weighs on me.

I promised I would stay
In God's hands my heart will lay
I promised I would stay
As an Angel by his side
It's what I been all this time
At his feet I lay

I have cried so many tears
That your songs had brought to my eyes
Comforting are your whispers
And I never heard you lie

You sang in a broken voice, A song so deep
As far as it could carry, You sang with a broken voice
A song so heavy.

I promise I will stay
In God's lap my head will lay
I promise I will stay
Like an Angel by your side
It's what I been all my life
At your feet I lie

And it weighs on you
A hurt so heavy a hurt so deep
Your eyes feel so heavy
and your sleep seems too deep

You dont try to beg your eyes to open
Just to see that I am no longer here
You wont deny it's taken all our life
It's true I still care
But it hangs over me, A guilt so heavy
A guilt so deep, It all weighs on me.

Reason for writing:

Actually this is a song I wrote, I've yet to put music to it
so I guess it is a poem. It's loosely about love and trust,
and God.
