Dreams

Dreams

At night as I lay in bed,
Thoughts of you invade my head.
There's always a smile on my face it seems,
As I drift off into my land of dreams.

In my dreams I see your pretty face,
Your eyes shining brighter than the stars in space.
Standing under a moon-lit night,
You cast a slender shadow against the blueish light.

I yearn to reach out and hold you,
But somehow I don't dare to.
So in the darkness I do stay.
From your sight, far away.

I wish to be the one who makes you smile.
To be by you in times of trial.
You are the one I love so true.
My dream is to be 'someone' to you.

The sun rises, ending my dreams, ending the night,
What once was dark, becomes light.
Each morning, I silently scream,
I wish there was some reality in my dream.

I'm beginning to realise that it seems,
Dreams will always remain as dreams.
But this hasn't stopped me from wishing,
That one day, I won't just be dreaming.

Reason for writing:

This poem was inspired by the most wonderful, special person I have been blessed to know... and of course... my dreams.

Thanks for just being you S.C.S.H
