A Stranger's Face

by Chris Cox - Aquarius - Not entered

a stranger’s face

setting sun, lonely heart,
asylum of fear and longing,
tired eyes, this one way town,
nothing new, stagnant, release,

breathe, to taste the air of someone new,
shine on, with hope, clinging to the gentle night,
familiar essence fade, a stranger’s face to hold,

tried eyes, this one way town fades, forgotten,
emotions reeling, the window is open, windless,
the setting sun shines, clouds enveloped, by light,

vexed, wanderlust, take hold,
these wings, spread far, set free,
fly on, into the sun, shedding grief,
fly on, unto the arms of someone new.
