Standing Alone

by Bobbie J. Brown - Scorpio

All alone in an empty room
is where I have stood lost,
confused.
No one's with me,
they leave me here.
I must be one whose name is Fear.
For I cause them to run so fast,
soon they are only in the past.
Why can't I be the girl they need?
I am just an unwanted weed,
slowly dying from too much loss.
The loss of love,
the loss of care,
look at me and you'll see it there.
So if you see me all alone,
don't talk to me,
just go on home.
I'll be all right once you're gone,
I won't think of you for too long.
You see,
weeds are oft tossed aside,
no one likes them on the outside.
The few that survive too lose faith,
here I stand trampled and afraid.
But as time draws near,
my eyes close.
I'll never find love,
this I know.

Reason for writing:

The story of one who has lived a life of broken hearts! She feels so empty inside because she can't find love. After all the loneliness and hurting she's decide to keep her heart locked up tight.
