All alone in this room, I feel the heated fear above my eyes. Distracted thoughts through a photograph, danger above the kids in August. Some sitting on the window sill, turning the corner I left alone. All through your depression, I was the one who felt the pain. Hiding behind a perfect smile, laughing away our innocense. The picture of your castle, is hanging high above the walls. Tipping the ceilings sideway, hoping to God that none of us fall. Sign says, "bridge may be icy", but mine and yours is melting in your eyes. Running fast through the pouring rain, the chalk stains on this wall are going to remind me of the pain I felt that Saturday night, and in the morning I cried.... "All through your depression, I was the one who felt the pain. Hiding behind a perfect smile, laughing away our innocense."
Reason for writing:
I wrote this poem about five years ago for my best friend. The two of us were going through a very bad depression but I hid mine to help her get through hers.Birth sign: Not entered
