War

by Catbert Pisces - Not entered

My ships were all ready
Strategically arraged
We wouldn't lose this time
The tide would now change

They fired first
But clearly had missed
Then we fired back
And scored the first hit

The war waged on
For over an hour
Our feelings were harsh
Bitter and sour

Each fleet fell apart
Slowly but sure
One ship left each
Who would win this war?

Narrowly dodging
Each bomb he would drop
I had to strike first
Or my ship would be lost.

Then all of a sudden
Out of nowhere, we were hit!
A second shot fired
He nailed us with it.

Two more hits like that
And we would be done
The was nowhere to hide
And nowhere to run.

Bang! "Dammit!"
Boom! "Oh shit!"
In defeat I yelled out
"You sunk my battleship!"

Reason for writing:

Just thought it would be fun to write a game of Battleship like it was a real war.
