We twist while turning Tangling our woven paths With devastating emotions And calming aftermaths Our minds and bodies Become unwound before us As little things confound And cause such a fuss All we know of the truth We cannot find at all But living in a house of lies Can sometimes break our fall People try to believe forever In everyone elses view When it's all said and done You can only believe in you No matter the so-called strength We may have acquired through pain It won't try to guard us From the pouring rain We must try so hard to be ourselves When all our friends have fled While our only gained wisdom Is from the words we've read Express your mind, your body, your soul However you possibly can For if you can find yourself You will be your biggest fan So through our very lives We often twist and turn While struggling in despair and woe We find what we need to learn.
Reason for writing:
I wrote this when I was going through a hard time in my life. I thought it helped me reflect on what I felt. I recently reread it, and I fell in love with it again. I thought that other people might appreciate it.Birth sign: Aquarius
