Wandering around here and there as happy as a cheery bird, I once passed by a place recognising a noise I never heard. The noise was sad, painful and fierce, It sounded like moans of dying, woeful cheers. I stopped flying and landed near by, As soon as I landed, I let out a sudden sigh. I clutched my little heart and held my cry For the scene was too much for a small bird's eye. The floor was painted red with blood, Bodies were still, without a word. Buildings, houses that once stood high and tall, Were now shattered to pieces as if accepted a great fall. Women, men or children one could not tell apart Because bodies were burned to ashes and recognising was hard. Atmosphere was covered with a thick layer of strange smell, The earth looked like it had been swept with a wave from hell. Nothing could be identified, No matter how hard I tried. Suddenly a thought struck me like lightning, I remembered the events when humans were fighting. They named those events 1 and 2, Unaware that they'd face a similar thing in future too. But now it has happened and there is no one to name this event, If only it was possible to go back and make'em understand. Nevertheless there is no guarantee that they wouldn't do it again and again. The technology that they always desired to get, It is the thing that has destroyed them today I bet! So now I'm left alone to name this scene, I'll try my best to stay serene. If whatever caused this disaster was alive, I'm sure I'd have taken its life. It wouldn't be hard then to send it behind the bars, For the pain and anguish I experienced, I name this tragedy the NUCLEAR WAR.....
Reason for writing:
